British Robert Whitaker, placed number 17 on the World Ranking, brilliantly wins CSI 4*’s Turismo de Portugal Grand Prix, which is played at 1,60 meters.
This Grand Prix was a qualifying event for the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008, as well as for the 2009 European Championship. Within a total of 40 horse riders that were selected to the Grand Prix, there were 4 Portuguese competitors, amongst which the national champion, Marina Frutuoso de Melo, has managed to qualify by finishing in 13th.
The first 10 places of the competition were filled by 4 Dutch riders, 3 Spanish, 2 British and a Brazilian rider.
This CSI 4*, which is a part of the Portugal Equestrian Tour, has left all the participant horse riders with a solid motivation to come back in 2009.
